History: GH-Stadium opened in 1987 in response to the increasing need for quality child care on Ann Arbor’s west side. This facility was extensively renovated in 2001. Conveniently located for quick drop-off and pick-up, this house is nestled on the edge of a tree-lined, quiet neighborhood with several parks. There are two playgrounds with age-appropriate equipment: one for infants and toddlers, and one for preschool and up.
Meet our Director: Director Sara Guoan graduated from Central Michigan with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2003 and started working at Gretchen’s House shortly thereafter. During her time with GH she has had the opportunity to work with children of all ages including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, young fives, and school aged children. In June of 2007, Sara married Brad Guoan, who is also a young fives teacher at Gretchen’s House Mt. Vernon. They live in Brighton on Island Lake with their cat Luna. In her spare time Sara enjoys being outdoors, playing volleyball, running, camping, reading, bike riding and spending time with her family and friends.
