History: GH-Stadium opened in 1987 in response to the increasing need for quality child care on Ann Arbor’s west side. This facility was extensively renovated in 2001. Conveniently located for quick drop-off and pick-up, this house is nestled on the edge of a tree-lined, quiet neighborhood with several parks. There are two playgrounds with age-appropriate equipment: one for infants and toddlers, and one for preschool and up.
Meet our Director: Director Ede Fortune was originally hired in 2001 as a GH SCamp Counselor while still a full-time college student. Since then, Ede has worked at various programs and centers within Gretchen’s House, including Infant Toddler, Young Fives, and Preschool classrooms at the Mt. Vernon, Oak Valley, and Stadium locations. In fall 2010, Ede came to GH-Stadium as the Program Director and began as Director two years later in summer, 2012. Ede graduated from EMU in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Language, Literature, and Writing and Children’s Literature. She also has an Associate’s degree from Washtenaw Community College in Child Care Professional and holds certification in Child Development. Ede loves being an aunt to two nephews and a niece. In her spare time, Ede loves to cook and bake, crochet, play tennis, and spend time with her fiancé and their two cats.
