Over the years, we have a developed a large library of materials on early childhood developmental topics in response to parent and caregiver queries. The following links provide a sampling of these flyers and brochures for people who want to know more about our philosophy and approach.
Purple Pages: These mini-newsletters on developmental issues are the perfect size to read during a coffee break. Is this normal? How can I support my child’s developing skills? Do you have any coping strategies for dealing with this problem? Everything from toilet learning to tantrums to language development…we’ve got it!
Active Learning Brochures: Although we emphasize that children develop different skills at widely varying rates, we understand a parent’s desire to understand where a child fits into his or her peer group. We developed our Active Learning Brochures to catalog typical behaviors in various skill arenas, by age. We’ve also outlined how our approach and techniques help us meet children at each stage of development and support their burgeoning skills.
Developmental Guidelines: Based on the State of Michigan’s Child Care Licensing Guidelines, these list typical milestones by age. We expect children to develop skills at different rates from each other, and we also know that individual children will develop different skills at different times. These benchmarks are a good starting point for conversations with your child’s teacher or physician if you have developmental concerns.
Recipes: Looking for a foolproof recipe for playdough or other preschool mystery substance? Look no further! We’ve compiled our best.
