Open: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Program: Full-day care for infants and toddlers.

History: Also known as “Baby House,” this center opened in September, 1985 at the request of parents from the original Gretchen’s House who needed care for their preschoolers’ younger siblings. It’s just around the corner from Gretchen’s House-Mount Vernon. The yard is deep and shady. Teachers use strollers, wagons, and front packs to take their children for walks around the neighborhood and to nearby parks. When children are ready for preschool, they’re eager to graduate to “Big House” across the street.

Meet the Director: Brad Guoan has been a Lead Teacher at Gretchen’s House since 2006, he was promoted to Assistant Director in 2015 and now to Director in 2018.  Brad is originally from Bay City, MI and went to Saginaw Valley State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with minors in English and Social Studies. His wife Sara also works at Gretchen’s House as the Director of the Stadium location. Brad & Sara live in Brighton on Island Lake with their daughter Birdie and their two cats (Hip-hip and Luna), where the enjoy going out on their pontoon, hiking, and traveling.  Brad is very thankful to work at Gretchen’s House and have the opportunity to work with so many great families and develop so many meaningful relationships.
