DIRECTOR
Director Danielle Wiener joined Gretchen’s House in 2007. She has as associate’s degree in Early Childhood from Niagara County Community College and earned her bachelor’s of arts degree in Education with a minor in Psychology from Dominican College. Before taking on the role of Assistant Director/Office Manager, Danielle worked in both the I/T and Preschool programs as a teacher and then the Young 5’s program as a Lead Teacher at our Dhu Varren location. Danielle has worked with children for the past ten years in both public schools and child care facilities. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. In addition, Danielle enjoys traveling, reading and being with family and friends. Danielle Wiener (2)
SUPPORT STAFF
Assistant and Lead I/T Teacher Kelsey Rocheleau says, “Hello! I am a graduate of the University of Michigan – Dearborn with a Bachelors Degree in General Studies majoring in Children and Families. I have gained early childcare experience through practicums at U-M Dearborn and completed an internship with U-M Ann Arbor. I also completed an internship with the Walt Disney World Company in Florida. I am excited to start this path as an early childhood teacher and to be a part of the Pond team! Outside of work, I enjoy being hiking, camping, and spending time with family and friends!
Cook Ian Arnold  has seven years of professional culinary experience. He holds a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri. Ian has worked with children as a nursery attendant and as a student volunteer. He is very enthusiastic about serving the needs of children and their families. In his spare time he enjoys hiking and fishing with his family.

INFANTS AND TODDLERS 

Assistant Director and Lead I/T Teacher Kelsey Rocheleau says, “Hello! I am a graduate of the University of Michigan – Dearborn with a Bachelors Degree in General Studies majoring in Children and Families. I have gained early childcare experience through practicums at U-M Dearborn and completed an internship with U-M Ann Arbor. I also completed an internship with the Walt Disney World Company in Florida. I am excited to start this path as an early childhood teacher and to be a part of the Pond team! I/T teacher Alissa Graczyk is a 2012 graduate of Sienna Heights University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Child Development.  She has been working in a variety of child care settings over the past 5 years and joined Gretchen’s House in July of 2018 as a Substitute.  In Alissa’s spare time she enjoys baking, photography, and spending time with her husband Ryan.
Teacher Gabi Buie is currently working on obtaining her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been in childcare for 5 years now, including being a teacher assistant in a special education classroom as well as in a Preschool inclusive classroom.  Gabi enjoys spending time with her family, her boyfriend, and his son. They enjoy going to the zoo, trying new foods, and watching movies. She is excited for her time at Gretchen’s House.
Afternoon teacher Olga Balyabo received a degree of Science in Belarusian State University of Informatics and Electronics.  She came to the United States with her husband and young son in 2007.  Olga has worked in preschool classrooms for 10 years.  She teaches math for children ages 3-9 at an Ann Arbor Russian School.  In her free time, Olga enjoys listening to Classical music, reading books and quilting.
INFANTS AND TODDLERS 
Lead I/T teacher Allison Rogers has eight years of experience teaching Infants and Toddlers. She has been in the Infant/Toddler Room at GH Traver for 5 years. Allison earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, taking road trips, visiting lighthouses, and photography.

Maddie Orlop says, “Hello! My name is Madelyn Orlop or Maddie for short. I recently graduated from Pennsylvania State University, where I earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Asian Studies with a minor in Japanese. During my time there I was an America Reads Literacy Mentor at the local children’s museum. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing my ukulele and piano, and doing origami. I am very excited  to meet all of you!”

 

Katie Blanton Hello! My name is Katie Blanton, and I am a new Infant/Toddler teacher at Gretchen’s House. I have a degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood endorsement. I graduated from Easter Michigan University in 2020. I have worked in infant and toddler classrooms both at Eastern Michigan University and around Michigan for the last three years. Most recently I was a second-grade teacher at a charter school in Plymouth, but I decided to return to early childhood because it is my passion. I am looking forward to getting to know the families here!

BARN PRESCHOOL

Lead Preschool teacher Franny MeLampy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Evolutionary Anthropology from the University of Michigan and studied human development in school, and will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Franny has been working with children for over seven years, and has previously worked at both the Stadium and Oak Valley locations as a substitute and a BRT. In her free time she enjoys reading, exploring nature with others, and spending time with her family and her two adorable cats.
Preschool teacher Sydney Jurczak graduated in 2018 from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Family and Child with a focus in Child Development, as well as a minor in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Since graduating, Sydney has worked in an elementary school as a Special Education Instructional Aide. Sydney grew up in Indiana near Lake Michigan. She enjoys spending time at the lake with family, drinking too much coffee, and hanging out with her boyfriend, Matt and her kitty, Peppa. Sydney also values her time volunteering with the Indiana Special Olympics.

COTTAGE PRESCHOOL

I am a University of Michigan-Ann Arbor graduate from the School of Education with a major in Language Arts.  I also graduated from Washtenaw Community College in 2018 with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I know I wanted to work with children since I was a young child myself teaching my siblings and cousins how to read and write.  I enjoy practicing yoga, gardening, and traveling on vacation with my husband.
Preschool Teacher Whitney Louis is excited to be joining the preschool staff at Traver.  Whitney graduated in December of 2017 from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  She taught at a few school in Ann Arbor before coming to GH.  Outside of her work at GH she teaches, works and trains at PKSA Karate Ann Arbor where she is the Director of the Little Ninjas classes.  In her free time, Whitney likes to read and spend time with her family, fiance and two cats.
Teacher Cleora (Cleo) Townsend
Afternoon Teacher Pam Chapin earned a degree from Western Michigan University in 1982.  She has been teaching preschool for 14 years and before that was a stay-at-home mom.  Pam has four grown children and one grandson.  She enjoys reading, camping, watching documentaries and sewing.
