Each Gretchen’s House childcare center has a Parent Library — a collection of great resource books, articles, and Gretchen’s House flyers on developmental topics. The books include classics and new material. The articles come from several of our favorite reading resources, including NAEYC literature and Child Care Information Exchange, among others.
To help parents understand the basis for our programs and track their children’s individual progress, we’ve also compiled general guidelines for children’s developmental milestones. Remember that children develop different skills at widely varying speeds. If you have concerns about your own child’s development, we recommend you speak to his or her teacher and/or pediatrician.
