Inclement Weather — W.I.S.D.

When the Ann Arbor Public Schools close for inclement weather, Gretchen’s House 4 (WISD) will be closed because the building we are in is closed by the school district. Parents should listen for school closing announcements on WAAM radio (AM1600). If you hear that High Point or the Ann Arbor Public Schools will be closed, this means Gretchen’s House at WISD will also be closed. Parents may also call our special Gretchen’s House phone line at 1-734-480-8592 to hear a recording about possible closings.

When the center is closed all day:
1) Gretchen’s House teachers are not allowed to care for children from the centers if we are closed due to inclement weather or dangerous temperatures. The teachers are being paid for this time and are therefore using their time to do additional planning and preparation at home.
2) Parents who wish to share child care with other Gretchen’s House parents on these days can
put their names on our co-op list and coordinate this care themselves.
