Child Care Centers
Sometimes the word “daycare” evokes images of a place where children primarily pass the time while their parents are at work. At Gretchen’s House, we refer to ourselves as child care centers because we are focused on the child, not just getting through the day.
What makes us different from an average daycare?
- Our child care programs feature child-centered, emergent curriculum for children of all ages.
- Our teachers have college degrees in early childhood or a related field.
- Our child care centers are not only licensed by the State of Michigan, we are also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, a consortium of early childhood professionals whose accreditation program certifies high-quality early childhood programs.
- We use HighScope’s research-based assessment tools to track children’s physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development.

SCamp is a safe, fun, and educational home-away-from home where kids spend time with their peers as they explore local attractions, do themed exploration activities at the center, and go to the pool, library, and local parks.
Junior Counselors
Gretchen’s House’s Junior Counselor program provides a supervised and structured environment for young teens between 11-15 years of age.
Spaces are limited. Please contact the center in which you are interested in for this program.
