Valid and reliable assessment for all children

An important element of the HighScope curriculum is the COR Advantage assessment tool. The tool was developed by the HighScope Educational Research Foundation, and is a whole-child assessment built on 36 items that are proven by research to best prepare children for school success. Teachers gather data on children’s activities through anecdotal notes and photo and video documentation. They use this information to plan for daily curriculum and to target specific learning outcomes for each child. A completed child profile report is shared with families 3 times each year. Teachers will meet with families to go over the report and share insights they have about your child’s development as well as ask you for your observations from home.
