Please note – when housed in the W.I.S.D facilities: this center varies from the other Ann Arbor Gretchen’s Houses on a few important points: tuition and the inclement weather policy.
History
In the fall of 1990, the Washtenaw Intermediate School District asked Gretchen to open a Gretchen’s House center at High Point School on Wagner Road. The center is open to all members of the community; enrollment is not limited to families of WISD employees. GH-W.I.S.D. is a modern, attractive facility and shares some spaces with Honey Creek Charter School and High Point, including a spacious gym, many gathering areas, and small group rooms for special activities. Outdoor spaces include two separate playgrounds, wide open fields for walks, and beautiful gardens for exploration and discovery.
