Please note – when housed in the W.I.S.D facilities: this center varies from the other Ann Arbor Gretchen’s Houses on a few important points: tuition and the inclement weather policy.

History

In the fall of 1990, the Washtenaw Intermediate School District asked Gretchen to open a Gretchen’s House center at High Point School on Wagner Road. The center is open to all members of the community; enrollment is not limited to families of WISD employees.  GH-W.I.S.D. is a modern, attractive facility and shares spaces with Honey Creek Charter School and High Point, including a spacious gym, many gathering areas, and small group rooms for special activities. Outdoor spaces include two separate playgrounds, wide open fields for walks, and beautiful gardens for exploration and discovery.

In 2024, Gretchen’s House opened a center-based Early Head Start classroom in partnership with the Washtenaw Intermediate School District. To apply, follow the link here: Early Head Start
